TEST: Tulika Hand Block Printed Cotton Dress
A single length of cotton. One artisan's hand. Every block struck by hand, one panel at a time — no two dresses are ever quite the same.
This dress carries the hand of Asha didi, a third-generation block printer from Bagru, Rajasthan, who has been carving and printing by hand since she was fourteen.
Each motif on this dress was pressed into the fabric one block at a time, using natural dyes and teak-wood blocks his family has carved for three generations. A single dress can take up to a full day to print — longer if the pattern repeats across multiple colours.
Because every stroke is done by hand, no two dresses are printed exactly alike. The slight variations you see aren't flaws — they're proof a person, not a machine, made this.
